Lebanese Cuisine
Lebanese cuisine includes a wide variety of dishes, and many traditional dishes are vegetarian. I was lucky not to lose significant weight while in Lebanon. In contrast, I did lose 4 kilograms in 11 days in Japan.
I usually prefer vegetarian food, but sometimes to get a sense of the culture, I try meat. Seafood upsets my stomach, so I avoid it, especially when traveling solo in a foreign country.
The cost of food in Lebanon is reasonable. While street food culture is prevalent in Tripoli, other places offer reasonably priced restaurants. My recommendation on food:
Dishes:
- Falafel
- Fattoush
- Tabbouleh
- Baba ghanoush
- Hummus
- Kibbeh
- Shawarma
- Manakish
Drinks:
- Arak
- Ayran
